Any Flavor Magic Shell (vegan)
When I was growing up, we always had Magic Shell in the house. If you’re not familiar, it’s a chocolate sauce that you squeeze onto your ice cream, and it hardens into a crunchy shell. It lives up to its name, and is truly magical. Back then, it only came in chocolate flavor. Today, you can buy lots of different flavors. But even better — make your own!
The beauty of this recipe lies in its simplicity and flexibility. You only need 2 ingredients: flavored chips and coconut oil. You probably already have these in your pantry right now. If you want it to be vegan, just check the ingredients on the chips. Some are vegan and others not.
Also, you can make any flavor you want. I’ve made dark chocolate, white chocolate, butterscotch, and peanut butter. (Some vegan options I found on Amazon include: white chocolate, butterscotch, peanut butter, and caramel [affiliate links].) You can mix and match: dark chocolate + peanut butter? You can even add a few drops of flavoring or extract: white chocolate + peppermint? White chocolate + lemon? After that, you can top your homemade Magic Shell with extra crunchies, like cacao nibs, chopped nuts, or sprinkles before it hardens.
Customize it endlessly, and let me know your favorite discoveries!
